…Far too often, grad students tell themselves that their work isn’t good enough to be considered for this or that award, but the reality is that most of the time you are the only one holding yourself up to an impossible standard. Give yourself permission to try and you’ll likely be surprised of the outcome!
When you think about college sports in America, the same three always come to mind: football, basketball, and baseball. These sports dominate the media, and playing them at a collegiate level requires a major commitment. What about those who are interested in playing other sports? What about those who want to be involved in a sport but require a more casual environment? What about those who want a social, competitive outlet but are not interested in mainstream sports? If you are asking any of these questions, University Recreation (UREC), has the answers!
I did not leave my family and move to another country just to get a bachelor’s degree. I came to learn other languages… I came to learn about history, geography, and other cultures, lifestyles, and types of governments. I wanted to get ideas of how I could contribute to my country when I go back.
I chose to study abroad because I wanted to explore different cultures and give myself new opportunities…In this environment, I had the opportunity to explore other cultures and understand the value of my own identity and my nationality.
