My name is Daniel Rainey and I served in the faculty of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (AEAB) in the Bumpers College of Agriculture Food and Life Sciences from 2000 – 2020. I have the pleasure of being both an alumnus (BSA, 1990) and faculty member of AEAB.

In 2001, I worked with some students in the Agricultural Economics Master’s program (AGECMS) to start a chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) at the U of A. This is a national professional organization aiming to prepare students like you to excel in their professional career, whether in industry, academia or government. The UA MANRRS chapter has provided a home for all students seeking comfort and a supportive base while they further their education. I have mentored a number of students across many disciplines over the years and have seen them become respected leaders in part due to their time at the UA and with MANRRS, but mostly from their own hard work and perseverance.

YOU BELONG at the UA because it is a wonderful institution preparing students for success in their future careers and communities and an amazing place to call your temporary home.
