Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competitions are now held in over 170 universities worldwide. The first competition at the University of Arkansas was held on Friday, March 11th. Next year, the name of the University of Arkansas will be on the list of universities that organize 3MT competitions.
That’s right, just three minutes to present a nine hour thesis!
Jade Newsome, a graduate student in Plant Pathology in the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, won the Three Minute Thesis contest. As the winner, Ms. Newsome was awarded $500 and a trip to compete for the Three Minute Thesis contest in the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools Regional.
Richard Perry, a doctoral student of kinesiology in the College of Education and Health Professions, presenting his research at the Three Minute Thesis contest. His presentation won the People’s Choice Award, and as a result, he was awarded $250 for his presentation.
Arley Ward, a doctoral student of History within the William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, presenting his research in the Three Minute Thesis competition.
Saif Mir, a doctoral student in Supply Chain Management within the Walton School of Business, presenting his research at the Three Minute Thesis Contest.
Brynn Lawrence, a graduate student in the Cell and Molecular Biology program, presenting her research in the Three Minute Thesis Contest.
Gurshagan Kandhola, a doctoral student in Biological Engineering, presenting her research at the Three Minute Thesis Contest.
