Kayla blog 2Being a student at the University of Arkansas has been an unforgettable experience! There is something special about being part of the Razorback family here in Fayetteville. I have been presented with many leadership opportunities that I may not have had at other institutions that I considered when searching for a place to get my master’s degree. Internships, volunteer opportunities, and other organizations on campus have given me a sense of purpose as a student. I honestly never expected to be offered many chances to be involved on campus as a graduate student, but the faculty and staff here at the University of Arkansas have continued to make me feel like a valuable part of campus life.

Through my experiences, I have gained valuable mentorships and friendships that will last a lifetime. It was difficult to move to a new town and adjust to a new institution, but everyone I have worked with has made me feel right at home. I feel like my involvement truly matters, and my ideas make a true impact. Even our sidewalks show how much each student leaves a lasting impression on the university! My involvement has not only makes me feel like a valued part of the U of A, but it also continually helps me become more comfortable in understanding where my career might take me. Even as a graduate student, it can sometimes be difficult to decide what my long-term goals are as a professional. My mentors, coworkers, and peers on campus have encouraged me to pursue new interests that continually open doors for me in the future.

Overall, I think that attending the University of Arkansas for graduate school has been one of the best decisions I could have made. The connections I have developed and opportunities I have been offered will make a lasting impact on me. I am proud to be a Razorback!
