Spring Break is a week embraced by college students everywhere. It gives everyone a chance to refuel and take a breather before the final stretch leading up to finals. Students do an assortment of things during Spring Break including going on a vacation or trip with friends or family, taking advantage of the free week to get ahead on papers and work for classes, or just relaxing and enjoying time off.
It is difficult deciding what to do with this wonderful week of freedom. I had friends that spent the week studying for the MCAT and spent time at home with family, friends who went on a road trip out west, and another friend who went on a multiple-day hiking trip in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. If you are on a tight budget, but still want an adventure, don’t forget that Arkansas has many things to offer! For example, Eureka Springs is only an hour away, or you can take on one of the many hiking trails. You don’t need to be in great hiking shape, there are trails of varying degree of difficulty!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
In previous years I have gone home during Spring Break and spent the majority of the week catching up on sleep. This year, I traveled to Philadelphia to visit a friend. It was fascinating seeing the much talked about Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and many other buildings from our early American history. No matter what you did or where you ended up, I hope you enjoyed your week off!!
